Frequently asked questions

What is a pre-switching process?

A pre-entry program prepares you for learning and working in the technical field.

How many days does the switching process take? What are the class times? And on which day am I free?

The pre-entry program lasts 13 weeks. You have 4 days of classes per week. You are free 1 day per week. On that day you can learn the language using the VaktaalApp. You will receive instruction in language, culture and technology. You will also receive help from a coach. Before the start of the program, you will receive a schedule. This includes the class times, the days you have to attend class, and your free day. The schedule may differ for each group and location.

Will I be paid during my training?

You usually don’t get paid during the pre-employment process. You don’t have a work contract yet. Energy Skills makes arrangements with the municipality. This way you can keep your benefits. After the pre-employment process, you will receive a salary from your employer.

Will I keep my benefits during the transition period?

You usually keep your benefits during the pre-shift process. The municipality or UWV must approve this in advance. Sometimes you do not have to apply temporarily. Start only when you have received the agreements in writing.
